Recently, the Indian Government announced that Coronavirus vaccination will be made available to all above the age of 18 from May 1. Today, the Serum Institute of India announced the rates for Covishield vaccines. While it will be sold at Rs 400 a shot to states it will cost Rs 600 to private hospitals. Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtra pointed out the difference and questioned why won't the states and centre get it at the same rate. However, he got trolled for the same.

He tweeted, "Can a spokesperson for the @SerumInstIndia please help us understand why states should not get Covishield at the same price as the centre?? And if they have issued a statement citing reasons, could someone please share a link re the same. Thank you." He trolled for the same. One netizen replied to his tweet and wrote, "Can Farhan Akhtar pleas help us to understand why the popcorn Popcorn price in multiplexes was 100 times their cost!" Another one wrote, "Dumb question! States don't want to provide subsidy! Do States have any plan of action before they blame Center and @narendramodi. The so called elite like you indulge in fussing! get you bearings in order."

Meanwhile, Sonu Sood also commented on the prices of vaccines and stated that it should be provided for free. He wrote, "Every needy should get vaccine for free. Very important to put a cap on the pricing. Corporates and individuals who can afford should come forward to help everyone get vaccinated. धंधा फिर कभी और कर लेंगे।"
